Since his beatification in 2017, pilgrimages have begun to important sites in Fr. Stan’s life.
Santiago Apostól Church, Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala
This was Fr. Stan’s last church, and the place where he was martyred. The room where the murder took place is now a shrine.
Cerro del Oro Church, Guatelmala
Fr. Rother spent his first few years in the Guatemala Mission in this Catholic Church in Cerro del Oro, on lake Atitlán.
Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary and Grotto
This is where Fr. Rother completed his seminary studies to become a priest. He worked often on the main Grotto, as well as a second smaller grotto for seminarians, that is now dedicated in his name. Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK
Fr. Stan’s resting place while his church is being built is the Resurrection Cemetery, next to the Diocesan headquarters in Oklahoma City. Pilgrimage to this site is possible. Please consult with the Cemetery staff for details.
Holy Trinity Church, Okarche, OK
This was Fr. Stan’s home parish when growing up. Inside the church is a relic of the first class, as well as a small display of some of Fr. Stan’s possessions. There is a statue of Fr. Stan as well as a small gift shop.
Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine, Oklahoma City, OK
The Shrine will be Blessed Stanley’s final resting place and the center of our community of devotion. The site is under construction but rapidly progressing.
Assumption Seminary, San Antonio, TX
Fr. Rother spent several unsuccessful and frustrating years at Assumption Seminary. His struggles with academics led to his dismissal from the Seminary in 1958. Nevertheless, this is an important site of devotion to Fr. Stan - even today there are those who struggle with academics and to find their way.
Cathedral of St. Andrew, Little Rock, AR
This archdiocese is headed by Bishop Taylor, who was very deeply involved in preparing Fr. Rother’s Cause for Beatification.
Holy Family Cathedral, Tulsa, OK
This archdiocese is headed by Bishop Kondaria. When Fr. Rother began his mission in Guatemala, the cities of Tulsa and Oklahoma City were under the same Bishop. Devotion to Fr. Rother exists in both places today.
