Information for Priests, Religious and Parish Laypeople

Disclaimer: I am not a priest nor a formally trained theologian or authority on the church. However I have researched official sources.

In ecclesiastical terms, the aim of the Stanley Rother Project is to increase the Public and Private veneration of Blessed Stanley Rother. Private veneration simply means those actions not conducted by the church itself, for example a mass or feast celebration. Public veneration are those activities that involve a “public” figure representing the official church such as a priest. Pilgrimages, prayers, and other projects carried out in Blessed Stanley’s name are methods of private veneration. Often a devotion to a venerated individual grows in private methods, and then is recognized appropriately in public means as those communities of devotion grow naturally. This natural growth is what the Stanley Rother Project aims to encourage.
